Sunday I had the day off, so what did I do? Yes, took some pictures!
I decided to work mainly on contrasty black and white images, really inky blacks and light whites. I love the style of David Bailey, particularly the black and white images he produced in the 60’s and 70’s.
Daria was kind enough to come down and model for me during the day, and it was a long day! We started at the studio, then moved to a building site. Half of the side of the building was missing which meant from inside it was the biggest softbox ever!
Next we went to the woods for some interesting moody pics! I used mainly natural light and a reflector for the outdoor pics, I use all kinds of lighting for my everyday work, large studio strobes, small flash, tungston etc but I do enjoy just good old natural light!
I did go a bit mad and took far too many but here’s a small selection.
Shanine provided the fantastic hair and makeup for the shoot, really moody and atmospheric.
