Sunday saw me spend the day with three cracking people. Martyn Rachel and Philippa! They came to one of the Guernsey Photography Festival talks I took and were keen to learn more. We shot some advanced portraits using various techniques and being keen photographers they had some equipment to allow us to use their flashes off camera. First we visited Saints harbour and shot some portraits using various techniques and lighting, you can see Alice doing a good job of the moody look (not one for smiling our Alice).
Next we moved on to Vazon and were fortunate enough to secure the services of top cyclist Ann Bowditch to practice some panning, not as easy as it looks, the pic below was taken by Philippa who was enjoying a rare Sunday off (visit Philippa at Rousse Kiosk for some ace ice cream).
After lunch at the Grande Mare we returned to the studio to talk landscapes. After discussing the various techniques we went down to Grande Rocque looking for some mood and atmosphere. We found it in the pub! Due to heavy showers we decided it was best to wait out the worst of it before heading off to the seaside.
All in all a great day out!!!!
