Ian came along for a one to one lesson last week. After a brief chat it was clear he already understood the basics so we shot some more advanced outdoor portraits using a one and two light setup.
After a small hike around the cliffs we found a great spot for some indoor/outdoor pictures. Coloured gels can be fun to work with and lift a picture against what would have been a fairly dark background. We also used some standard natural light and a one light setup for some great moody shots of Alice outside.
Next we went to Port Soif to look at taking some long exposures for the misty water effect, fortunately the fog held off for long enough to take a couple!
Just a whiff of a blue gell here to lift the background which had great texture.
Similar in red.
One light outside for the high contrast look.
Natural light, used well can give great soft light.
13 seconds at Port Soif.
