What a way for Creative Photography to spend Easter weekend! Carmen and Will planned an epic wedding, married in Sark then back to Guernsey for the reception. It was a fantastic weekend for us and for them.
Bridal preparations were in three rooms at the Aval du Creux and it has to be said that the staff there are so fantastically helpful. Ally ran between the rooms capturing make-up, hair and general excitement whilst Carmen followed the rule on her mug. The dress was incredible, chosen in the UK and remade by Carmen’s very talented mum who also found the time to create her own outfit too.
For rules on what NOT to do on your wedding morning follow Mike down to La Moinerie with Will, Harvey and the rest of the boys and take a look at what they did! We cannot say that there wasn’t a casualty but our lips are sealed.
A lovely service followed in St Peter’s church where there appeared to be an army of florists in Carmen’s family, the flowers looked amazing. Onwards to La Seigneurie Gardens where Carmen and Will did us proud and gave us so much time to photograph them in a very special location on a perfect day.
Carmen and Will had a short reception at the Aval du Creux with the first of two wedding cake cutting ceremonies (well the second was more of a smashing but read on). The children were entertained with an Easter egg hunt and then it was time for the charter boat back to Guernsey where Carmen and Will were happy to hold up the boat and pose for yet more photographs – and they did it so well. Speaking of boats, Carmen’s dad (retired Captain of Condor) gave her some expert advice on sailing the Sark boat…..
Arriving back in Guernsey the Rutherford-Childs had asked for photographs around the little chapel, we duly obliged and have to emphasise just how generous they were with their time – and it shows! The final destination was La Grande Mare for a lovely reception and giant Easter Egg smashing. Well what else would you do at Easter?
Oh and bless them, they even popped over the sea wall for some sunset shots before dessert and it has to be said Carmen stopped traffic on the way back, although Ally prefers to think it was her who stopped the traffic ;o)
It was a happy Easter for Creative Photography and we wish Carmen, Will, Serena and Harvey a long and happy future together.
